Humatin 250 mg
Humatin 250 mg is used to treat an intestine parasite infection (amebiasis). This antibiotic is known as an aminoglycoside. It works by preventing parasite growth in the intestines. Because this medication is poorly absorbed into the blood, it will not treat infections that do not originate in the intestines. Paromomycin may also be used in conjunction with a special diet to treat a serious brain problem (hepatic encephalopathy). This condition affects people who have liver disease and is caused by an excess of a natural substance (ammonia) in the body. Normally, the liver eliminates ammonia. Paromomycin treats hepatic encephalopathy by inhibiting the growth of ammonia-producing bacteria in your intestines. This antibiotic is only effective against parasitic and bacterial infections. It is ineffective against viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Any antibiotic’s effectiveness can be reduced if it is used or misused unnecessarily.
